Longtime FDAK Members Branch Out

A new business offering unique last rides has opened in Liberty by FDAK members Curt Demrow and his father Bill.  They have started Motorcycle Hearse of Kentucky, which offers an alternative to the traditional hearse, especially for motorcycle enthusiasts.

“There are so many motorcycle people now.  We had requests for it before we ever had it,” said Bill.

The hearse is styled after the house-drawn carriages used in the old west and is pulled by a matching 2014 Harley-Davidson Tri-Glide Trike.  It can transport standard and oversized caskets as well as urns for cremations services.

The Demrows displayed the new hearse at the recent Funeral Directors Association of Kentucky Annual State Convention this past June in Louisville.  The Demrows have long been active in the funeral business.  Both are licensed funeral director.  Curt is the Casey County coroner and owner of McKinney-Brown Funeral Home in Liberty.

The hearse is available locally as well as for use by other funeral homes.  For more information visit their website at  The phone number is 859-707-8608.

The family’s newest venture is unique to this part of the country.  “There’s not another one like in in the state of Kentucky that we are aware of,” said Curt.  The motorcycle hearse, which was custom built in Michigan, can be transported to funeral homes or locations in a large enclosed trailer.
