 KNA Nightingale Tribute Program

What is a KNA Nightingale Tribute?

A tribute to any registered nurse or licensed practical nurse for their years of service, to be given during the nurse’s funeral by a nurse colleague or friend.

 

The tribute is a short reading of the ‘She Was There’ poem by Duane Jaeger, RN, MSN.  The tribute is done by KNA member/members volunteers.

  • KNA office will send out a Call for KNA Nightingale Tribute Volunteers to the KNA Chapter closest to where the service will take place.
  • KNA office will contact the funeral home to schedule the tribute in service as appropriate.
  • KNA office will contact the requester with details of the KNA Nightingale Tribute including the names of the volunteers attending.
